~ Barcelona ~
This city has my heart, it is one of my favourite places on earth, well really all of Spain is… but honestly Barcelona what a dreamy city. I’ve been there a couple of times actually and I still want to go again. The city itself is magnificent, its the best of both worlds, the beach and the city both together. Also the port and the mountains, honestly what more could you want. Its so hustle and bustle, there is so much to do.
Definite to dos would be La sagrada familia, flamenco dancing in the gothic square, the gaudi buildings, Barcelona beach, la boqueria (my fave), hike up to the top of the mountain and overlook Barcelona, walking around to the port where all the little restaurants are and just walking around the city in general.
I need to tell you about La Boqueria because it is the best food market there is. Everything is so fresh, any type of smoothie you could ever dream of sold for a euro. The freshest of fish cooked up right in front of you and the nut stalls are amazing! You can sit up at the bar of a restaurant (if you can get a seat) and watch everything being cooked. The vibe is so good but if you don’t like lots of people then this isn’t really the place for you, thousands of people go here a day and it only gets better.
I don’t have any specific places I can tell you to go for food and drink because we usually just walk around and when we like something we go there. Also when theres a litre of sangria on the menu that usually grabs my attention. Theres a square called the gothic square which has loads of restaurants, usually ever hour or so there will be street performers that entertain you during dinner. The flamenco and jazz around there are also amazing! Also don’t forget the ice bar down by Barcelona beach!
~ Alicante ~
This is where my aunty lives, I have been here many times as a child and now an adult and I will never get sick of it. You’ll see why when I upload a photo of their view! Ok so not many people think Alicante is super popular with the tourists but it actually really is, It has some of the best beaches, the harbour is amazing and the city is so vibrant and full of life. There are so many restaurants to try out, take your pic between local, classy or Michelin star! There is a big night life there too, they town has sooo many bars to choose!
The best beach to go to is Playa del Juan, its huge and its the biggest beach in Alicante, You can surf, paddle board, kayak, everything. My personal favourite place to paddle board is right outside my aunty’s door. They back on to a little beach and the water is usually so still its perfect to paddle board.
~ Altea ~
About an hours drive from Allicante and it feels like you’re in Greece! Altea, is a hilltop village which has breath taking views. It is absolutely amazing I could not recommend this place enough, it is so full of life and the sunsets are to die for.
