Lake District

~ Lake District ~

The Lake District is huge! Theres a lot of places to see but the main spot people usually visit is called Windermere. It is picture perfect and in the summer it is the most delightful place to be. We made the rookie mistake of going in school breakup, it was our last stop after our Scotland road trip so we didn’t really think it through. There isn’t really anywhere to park for more than 2 hours, if you can get a carpark at all. We found one which was pure luck but only a 2 hour stay and we had to pay. We had a delicious lunch of mussels and pizza, paired with aperol spritz on the corner with a view of the lakes. I couldn’t believe how lucky we got with our seats especially because everywhere we had previously been to said there was about an hours wait for food. Anyway after our lazy lunch we wondered down by the lakes and took in all the scenery Windermere had to offer.

We visited two other spots in the lake district, one was called Kendal, which is a bit of a backwards town, It was pretty gloomy when we went and probably didn’t help the eery feeling but it just wasn’t my cup of tea, gave me a weird vibe… great Italian food though.

Just a quick reminder here – DO NOT GO DURING SCHOOL HOLIDAYS, its soooo busy!
