~ Edinburgh ~
Finally we arrived in Edinburgh after a 4 hour drive from Inverness! Again we got an Airbnb which was amazing! It was just outside the city, about a 20 minute walk in which isn’t really anything when you’re in a main city! This is one of the busiest places I have been in, it reminded me a little of Oxford street in London sometimes (probably because the fringe festival was about to start)! The city is super cool, it has such an edgy vibe to it, the high street is right by the river with the castle looking over the whole city, I can’t explain how cool it is you will just need to go and see for yourself!
There are so many tours you can do in Edinburgh but the one that we went to was an underground tour of Edinburghs old city. Edinburgh is basically a city built on a city, the tour guides are amazing and really funny. The whole experience is really creepy but gives you so much insight to how people used to live. You get to stand inside real rooms from that day in age, it makes you realise how lucky we are now, even the smallest things like lights that we get to turn on and off whenever we want! Anyway, I could not recommend this enough, I am totally not a history gal but I did really enjoy this tour.
OK, you must see the Royal Mile whilst you’re here, it is the most famous road in Edinburgh, it leads you all the way to the Edinburgh castle. If you’re a Harry Potter fan you need to see Vitorica Street which was the inspiration for Diagon Alley, really pretty! Make sure you get to the Old town too, and another thing if you’re there for the fringe festival ( It was the week before we went so things weren’t in full swing but still very busy) make sure you go and see some shows and have a few beers in the stalls that are set up everywhere!
